Job Posting: College of Charleston

The Department of Communication at the College of Charleston invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Communication to begin August 16, 2018.

The successful candidate will be a communication generalist with the ability to teach public speaking, as well as writing courses in rhetoric, journalism, or strategic communication. Teaching load for this position is four courses per semester. PhD in Communication, Journalism, Rhetoric, or Strategic Communication preferred; ABD considered. Applicants with experience teaching writing focused courses are preferred.

Evidence of effective teaching (e.g., syllabi, examples of student work, course evaluations) and a description of your teaching philosophy are required for consideration. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, teaching portfolio, and contact information for at least three references by May 15, 2018.
